Frozen areas to make GUI templates…

    Blog post image

A feature recently checked in to trunk: an optional attribute to tell the editor to “freeze” parts of a rule. This is useful if you want to give some users access to some rules – but not change the structure (remove bits, add bits, general mayhem). Users with sufficient permissions can edit options, and canRead more →

Refactoring: Google Summer of Code progress update

    Blog post image

Thanks to the Google Summer of Code programme, we have Lucas Amador working on refactoring support for rules. Initially the focus is on the Eclipse plug in (of course) – as Eclipse has excellent support for refactoring tools that are not java source specific – but the intent is to have the feature available toRead more →

Monitoring for changes in repository

    Blog post image

A feature in Guvnor 5 that might not be obvious is atom feeds (like RSS feeds) for different things: specifically Category listings, and package listings. Using a feed reader of your choice (below is NetNewsWire) you can “listen” for changes to assets (each change will result in a new item in a feed, effectively). OpeningRead more →

More translations

    Blog post image

There are some more translations in the works, thanks to some community members: Japanese by Shigeaki Wakizaka Simplified Chinese by Richard Qin I have committed these into trunk, but they are not yet available as part of the build while they are worked on/reviewed etc. But you can find them in the messages package, andRead more →

Spanish localisation

    Blog post image

Thanks to Salaboy, we now have a Spanish (es_ES) localised version of Guvnor: As mentioned previously, this can be accessed via adding ?locale=es_ES to the end of the URL, or if the browsers locale header says it wants spanish etc… Thanks Salaboy !

Translation/localisation of Guvnor

    Blog post image

Guvnor (the web part) has been Internationalized (i18n) – (almost) all displayed strings externalised into resource bundles (properties files). So it is possible for the UI to be localised into pirate speak, or whatever people feel inclined to do. Any volunteers would be much appreciated (there will be various people looking at it over time,Read more →

Product update: Guvnor security

    Blog post image

A common need and desire of the web interface of Guvnor is to be able to have users of different technical abilities interact with it. Another need is to be able to allocate people different sets of data to “own”. These have now been addressed in Guvnor (these features should be available in Milestone 2Read more →

SVN url changes & a funny video

    Blog post image

For those that care, our SVN urls have changed due to a migration. The repositories are the same, but the URLS different: Developer URL: https://svn.jboss.org/repos/labs/labs/jbossrules/trunk/Anonymous URL: http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/labs/labs/jbossrules/trunk/ If you have an existing working copy, you can use svn switch like following: svn switch –relocate https://svn.labs.jboss.org/labs/jbossrules/trunk https://svn.jboss.org/repos/labs/labs/jbossrules/trunk . (for developers). Also, some may remember I mentionedRead more →

Accessing Guvnor as a Filesystem (WebDAV)

    Blog post image

Just checked in to trunk, is the capability to access the repository back end as a filesystem. This is useful for a whole lot of cases (including, for instance, saving Excel directly to the repository). Its also a neat lead into the ability to have files both in the repository for governance and editing, andRead more →
